Plum voice service upgrade for insurance broker
Insurance Desk is a small brokerage based in Aylesbury. They have over eight years of experience providing competitive quotes on landlords, tenants, portfolios and commercial insurance policies.
Upgrading from a fixed line telephone service was a wise business move for Insurance Desk, they turned to Plum communications to upgrade them to a Horizon hosted voice service. In addition to this they also upgraded their Office 365 systems and WIFI with Plum.
Founder of the firm, John Cox was unsure about the move at first and was concerned about moving from a big telephone company down to a smaller local business-like Plum communication.

Having Horizon voice services has meant that Insurance Desk can keep on recruiting staff, and it allows the staff to work from their mobile, at home or at the offices. It allows for much more flexibility – new staff can start immediately. The company has a couple of different sides to its business and if they need out of area exchange lines they can be provided which makes it much more straightforward. John continued, “We’ve had it easier during the pandemic, most of the clients probably wouldn’t know we have people working from home”.

Peter Savic, from Plum made the installation process simple for Insurance Desk. Working together to choose a date and time that was suitable as well as a quick installation meant that the change had little effect on the company’s productivity.
John mentioned, “If I could change anything it would have been to upgrade the systems using Plum sooner. Now if any other companies ring up trying to offer telephony services, we can say we have everything covered by Plum. I wouldn’t want to jeopardise that relationship for the sake of a small cost saving”.
