VOIP or POTS
Plum Communications provide all types of lines whether you want Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) or Plain Ordinary Telephone Service (POTS). Our extensive experience and vast product knowledge means that we can help you select the most appropriate technology to suit your needs. We will work with you to develop a migration plan where Plum fully manage the transition from POTS to VOIP. The UK national infrastructure upgrade means that analogue lines are being phased out across the UK and it is planned that all connections will be VOIP by 2025.
Review
Plum Communications can carry out a review of your existing lines and services.
Unused lines – lines you are paying for but may no longer require
Overused lines – not enough lines to cope with inbound or outbound calls
At risk lines – where service is in danger of failing or being withdrawn leaving you with no service
Recomendations – changes which can result in efficiency and cost savings
Analogue and Digital Lines
Plum Communications can migrate in analogue and digital lines which you may have with another provider. Migrating the lines to Plum means that you will have the services managed and in event of any service issues you will have a single point of contact to handle your service request. We use integrated supplier testing to check line faults and we can also support telephone systems on site to provide you with a single point of contact for any line fault.
VOIP and SIP
Voice over internet protocol (VOIP) has become the most common way for businesses to communicate and is expected to replace standard telephone lines completely by 2025 as the national infrastructure is upgraded.
There are two main deployments of VOIP, cloud hosted where everything is hosted in the cloud, and on premise where a system is installed locally connected to SIP trunks (lines). The on premise system may also have legacy analogue or POTS lines connected making it a hybrid system.
Plum Communications provide hosted VOIP and SIP. We have extensive experience and training on cloud systems and on premise systems and can advise which is the optimum system for your needs.
